How Does Science Affect the Tour of Discovery?

After hearing about Mr. Giraldo's Tour of Discovery, the students interest were peeked. How long would it take to ride across the country? How will he stay safe? What kind of equipment will he need? Where will he stay? The questions were numerous. After reviewing the TOUR OF DISCOVERY website, this class decided to interview the 8th grade Social Studies teacher. In preparing for the interview, the students had to research the issues, concerns and problems that might arise on this journey.
These students will continue the research and investigaion throughout the summer as Mr. Giraldo will answer questions, send photos, and journal his trip online daily.
